lululemon waterfront
Wichita, KS
Rooted in Wichita’s historic brick architecture and shaped by its growing community of local makers, the design draws on a sense of authenticity, craft, and quiet resilience. A palette of rustic, tactile materials reflects the city’s warmth and approachability, while references to the surrounding wheat fields introduce softness through pattern, tone, and movement.
Subtle cues from weather worn barn wood and hand-painted graphics inform moments of detail in an otherwise clean palette, adding local character.
The result is a space that feels grounded in place: familiar, textural, and deeply connected to the cultural fabric of the city.
Resonance Piece: Hannah Lee Scott
Two commissioned murals by local artist Hannah Lee Scott bring a distinct, community-driven voice to the space.
Known for her signature black line work, her illustrations are at once minimal and expressive—layering wit, curiosity, and narrative into deceptively simple forms that resonate deeply within the Wichita community.
The pieces are conceived as a site-specific installation, translating her playful yet thoughtful visual language into a larger-scale moment that anchors the environment.
Rooted in local culture and a sense of playfulness, the custom art for this site reinforces a sense of authenticity and connection, embedding the spirit of the community directly into the spatial experience.
